Media and Event Coordinator Internship (Feb-Aug 2026)
Supported by the Illinois Arts Council Youth Employment in the Arts (YEA) Grant
Homeroom is a small artist-led nonprofit resource for developing and producing original multidisciplinary arts programming, free from financial and artistic constraints.
By bringing together Chicagoland-based artists, audiences, curators, and venues, Homeroom creates space for generating and exploring new ideas and shared practices of art and community-making. Homeroom supports and presents IL artists at various stages in their careers working in music, dance, film, visual arts, literary arts, puppetry, and other performing arts. Find out more about Homeroom and our past programs.
Homeroom presents 8-12 multidisciplinary concerts and projects annually involving collaborations between local musicians and visual artists working in contemporary and experimental media, genres, and practices.
With support from the Illinois Arts Council, Homeroom will hire a media/event intern for February - August 2026. Due to the nature of the grant, this position is limited to individuals aged 22 or younger. Although this is a temporary position, candidates would ideally be open to ongoing work at a scale to be determined by future funding.
Candidates with artistic practices are encouraged to apply and may have an opportunity to grow into a curatorial/artistic role in the future.
This is a contract position, $20/hr, paid monthly.
