Homeroom presents the 3rd annual...
Pal-entine's Day, a celebration of friendship.
Join Homeroom for our 3rd annual Pal-entine’s Day celebration of friendship featuring live music and games at Cole’s Bar in Logan Square. Our very own Seth Vanek (Roommate, Thin Hymns) hosts a round of Friendly Feud that pits local organizations Comfort Station against Chicago Art Department. Who will take the crown from two-time champions Nightingale Cinema?
Homeroom’s 2015 Pal of the Year recipient Matthew Baron (Future Hits, Coach House Sounds) will be on hand to present this year’s award to artist, writer and curator Jordan Martins.
Local crowd-pleasers Dust Bunnies and Deadbeat will also perform live sets.
Dust Bunnies are a four-piece indie outfit who play a unique breed of folk-pop that effortlessly blends psychedelia and dream pop with the garage rock elements to create a world of spacey sounds interlocked with tight beats.
Deadbeat is a full-band psychedelic dance outfit helmed by lo-fi songwriter Jessica Risker. Channeling her solo songwriting into self-described anti-folk apatheticisms, Deadbeat draws influence from the musical stylings of Beck, the do-it-alone attitude of Bob Dylan, and the poetic musings of Daniel Johnston.
